The Doctor will see you now…

We know it’s been a bit tricky getting face-to-face appointments with GP’s during lockdown. But let’s hope that soon changes. Especially as we’re about to start the construction of a brand-new doctors surgery.

Yep – Enrok has just won a multi-million-pound contract for the construction management of Hartshill Medical Centre in Nuneaton. This much-needed state of the art facility for the local area will replace the town’s current surgery on Chancery Lane – and meet the demands of a booming resident population well into the future. Not only that, but it’ll also be a fresh and bright space for the health centre staff that work there. Construction is due to start towards the end of June or early July. We’re literally just dotting the I’s and crossing the T’s.

We’re building this 15,000 sq.ft facility for a private client – who is looking to leave it as their legacy once it’s all finished. So that’s a pretty amazing legacy to leave. Florence Nightingale springs to mind.

As with all our projects, our name was put forward by an existing client. In fact, we were first contacted during the summer of 2019 – it’s only in the last couple of months that we’ve got the nod that it’s full steam ahead. We’ve been working tirelessly with the client to develop this build so that it’s as cost effective as it can possibly be – without compromising on quality.

The new surgery will broaden the range of patient services in the community – there are rooms for GPs, nurses, treatments, physio, consulting, quiet isolation, group and holistic therapy, as well as meeting rooms and plenty of car-parking spaces. An independent pharmacy will be on site too, making things much more streamlined. There could also be one or two extra additions – we’ll let you know more, as things start to take shape!

We want to give a shout-out to Hayward Architects in Hinckley and national engineering consultants JMS Group, who’ve played their part in designing this new build for the people of Nuneaton. We’re looking to complete the build in the spring of 2022.

It’s fair to say the Enrok team is delighted at winning this contract. We’ll keep you posted on developments as they happen.

Exciting times ahead.
